Miscrits Of Volcano Island, Open-World Pokemon-Style RPG Goes Live

So people have been begging Nintendo for ages to release a Pokemon MMO but Nintendo just isn't biting. A few fanmade versions of a Pokemon MMO have come online but they're mostly based off the Gameboy versions of the game. Well, Broken Bulb Game Studios wasn't going to wait until the twelfth of never for Nintendo to make a game we've all wanted to play, instead they moved on ahead with Miscrits of Volcano Island, which is basically an open-world, multiplayer RPG designed in the same vein as Pokemon.

Jason Moore, founder and President of Broken Bulb Game Studios briefly mentioned that...“Miscrits of Sunfall Kingdom is the most successful creature collector game on Facebook,” ... “We took that solid base and improved on every aspect and feature of the game.”

Players can scavenge through the Volcano Island to find any of the 400 different and unique Miscrits to collect and horde or to use in head-to-head battles when facing off against other players in the PvP battle mode.

If an online Pokemon game is something you've always wanted to play then you can't really go wrong with trying out Broken Bulb Game's Miscrits of Volcano Island.

Miscrits of Volcano Island Review

Miscrits of Volcano Island delivers the best social Pokemon game yet

There have many games that have tried to emulate Nintendo’s success with the Pokemon series, but few have done it as well as Miscrits of Volcano Island. It’s the rare social game that actually feels epic. The world is huge and varied, and exploration is very satisfying. The game doesn’t stray too far from the incredibly successful formula it’s emulating, but at the same time it manages to create a feel all of its own.

In Miscrits of Volcano Island you are the chosen one, of sorts. There’s a prophecy that predicted that one day you’d come to the island and set things right. And the way to do that, of course, is by collecting and battling lots and lots of creatures called miscrits. The story isn’t particularly original, but it’s fleshed out quite a bit more than in most games on Facebook. There are plenty of non-player characters that you can talk with, including a bustling port town filled with interesting people.

But really the story is just here to provide a reason to explore the island. Like Pokemon, Miscrits is all about collecting creatures and creating the perfect team. You’ll begin with one starter miscrit and from there you’ll need to assemble a team of fighters. Battles aren’t random as in most similar games, instead you can search for miscrits to fight and catch by investigating the world around you. You can search trees, bushes, and caves, and most of the time this will bring you to a battle sequence with another miscrit.

Combat works much as it does in similar games. It’s turn-based, and you’ll have a number of abilities and attacks to choose from, though your options will increase as your miscrit levels up. A number of factors determine your success in battle, including the elemental affinities of each miscrit (fire is strong against nature, for instance, but weak against water) as well as their experience level. And, of course, you can capture new creatures by weakening them and using a magical book to collect them. Thankfully, unlike pokeballs, your use of the book isn’t limited at all.

Really, if you’ve ever played a Pokemon game Miscrits of Volcano Island will feel mostly familiar. Miscrits evolve at certain experience levels, mini-boss characters are littered throughout the world, and there are shops where you can buy items and heal your miscrits. There’s also an arena where you can test your team against other real players also in the game. This works the same as in the single-player campaign, except you only have 30 seconds per turn to help speed the action along.

Miscrits of Volcano Island

Miscrits of Volcano Island

There are a few changes based on the platform, however. Many of the items and even some special miscrits can be purchased with premium currency, which you do earn slowly throughout the game but can also be purchased with real money. In place of energy is a feature called virtue, which doesn’t limit how much you can play directly, but instead is required to heal up your virtual critters. So you can keep playing indefinitely so long as your miscrits don’t get beat up, and since their health replenishes as they gain levels there are plenty of ways to extend your play sessions without resorting to spending real money. It should also be noted that the game’s terrific presentation, while still full of cute little animals, is clearly geared for a somewhat older audience. It’s still suitable for kids, but it’s less embarrassing for adults, too.

The most impressive thing about Miscrits of Volcano Island is just how expansive it is. It just feels like there’s so much to do and see. While the game may not be particularly original, it manages to do what a number of games before it have failed: create a fun, satisfying, and addictive Pokemon-style game on Facebook.

Elite Waddles Review Info

The brand new miscrit from awakening. Stats are improved a lot from waddles and the final move AP is 35.

Stats are quite good with elite HP, max EA and other three strong stats. The only moderate stat is ED.

Skillset wise the final move does 35 AP damage there is both confuse and sleep. Would have been better if there is improvement in some of the skills.

Conclusion: It is not that worthy miscrit to have in your main team.

What we love?
Confuse and sleep combo.

Would be better.
ED was better.

Boomble Review

The most weird looking miscrit among all. Plain dicky! The first three evolution looks fine but the final evolution can't control my laughter. Peeled of banana. :)

Looks like a water miscrit with great elemental power with powerful poisonous and damage over time moves.

Am I the only one. What you all think about this miscrit?

Petrified Statikat Review Info

Petrified Statikat Review: Statikat one of the oldest lightning miscrits from the world of miscria has now its petrified counterpart. Statikat weak stats are now improved and it can now handle tougher crits in the arena.

With three strong stats and 3 moderate stats. Stats are pretty good considering most of the early released miscrits have probably the worst stats. Final move that never misses when enchanted.

Although I would not suggest this one to be in the main team. Many amazing miscrits are there so if you are one of those players who loves to collect and train miscrits you can add this one to your collection. I love collecting miscrits already bought one. I won't be training it as its not that worth training! :)

Moves like body blocker to increase PD, final move that deals 30AP damage when enchanted and confuse. Petrified flue can be a companion for newbies in the game and there is no need to buy this one you can get it for free. Visit here to claim your free petrified flue.

Definitely not a miscrit that you can have in your main team. Train it if you want to increase your player rank.

Petrified breezycheeks Review Info

Petrified breezycheeks one of the recently released petrified miscrits. You can get this miscrit for 250 or 200 (if you have Player trait) gems. Its the redesigned version of the original breezycheeks.

Petrified breezycheeks Review:
All the moves that make the original one popular among players are all present with improvements in the stats. Stats are not that good weak PD and moderate HP.

Probably BBS should consider before releasing new miscrits as old miscrits no longer suits the new battle arena needs. A lot have changed and this one is no exception. Its hard to review old miscrits as most of them are outdated.

What we love?
Final move that may poison opponents with 30AP when enchanted and dizzying winds that confuses opponents.
